The farm of the giant is located on the East side of the Forum, opposite the Capitolium. There are rests of a building in mixed work in tiles, datable about by the end of the I and beginning of the II century A.D. Today we can see a great area with an apse at the bottom and two smaller areas at the sides. A picture dated 1814 allows us to partially reconstruct the building when the original vault had not collapsed yet. In time, the monument underwent several changes until being used as a farm. As for the original function of the building, to some experts it might be a temple on the podium. According to others, instead, the building might have hosted city administrators. The name "Farm of the Giant" was attributed to the monument by the Neapolitan tradition in the XVIII century and it is connected to the discovery of the statue of Jupiter that originally was placed in the capitolium cell. The statue was transported to Naples and initially installed in the Royal Palace, and later exposed in the National Archeological Museum in Naples, where it still is.
